When you know, you know…

Dan and Ellen originally met in Indiana over 20 years ago while they were in junior high. With their parents as transportation, they vividly remember going to Keystone mall together. At no fault to either of them, they lost touch during the time after.

Ellen moved to Colorado some 15 years ago while Dan moved out 5 years ago. Thanks to Instagram, they reconnected when Ellen noticed him in a friend’s post. Dan loves to make sure everyone knows she came into his DMs first. After a short exchange they decided to get drinks on the next Sunday. Dan knew Ellen was “the one” when she called him out of nowhere that Sunday while he was driving back from the mountains in a blizzard. He immediately recognized her voice and they spent almost an hour on the phone, only intermittently dropping the call due to lack of service and navigating snowplows. That Sunday would go down as the day they would become inseparable, in fact traveling to Indiana together only 3 weeks later to meet each other’s family over Christmas.

They continue to reside in Colorado and have no set plans on leaving anytime soon. They enjoy mountain time in both the winter and summer. While Dan has pulled Ellen into more skiing, Ellen has pushed him into road biking. They really value the quality time together in the outdoors and taking advantage of the endless activities and healthy lifestyle Colorado offers. The only thing they dearly miss is accessibility to boats and lakes. They both share the same love and appreciation of “lake life” and grew up spending their summers in Indiana on the water, waterskiing and wakeboarding.

One major value Ellen & Dan share with each other is the importance of family. They are both very grateful for the strong relationships they have with their parents and siblings and the unconditional love they have given them through life. They look forward to instilling that in the family they plan to grow of their own.

They are so excited to have you celebrate their special day with them, and hope you have as much fun as they will!
